Old World Glory

Old World Glory is a quasi-biographical story examining the life and legacy of Oliver Marquez a composite character based on a Mexican-born man with tremendous ambition.  Marquez, without a formal education, enlists in the Air Force. After an exam, due to his innate intelligence, he is trained to become a pilot, as an Aztec Eagle, where he is one of thirty-three pilots who were the first Mexican troops to fight in combat overseas during World War II. After the War, immigrating to the United States with steely determination, he rejects a military career and instead enters the business sector.  He heads to Los Angeles, where he succeeds as a businessman through hard work and by making political allies until succumbing to illness where he encounters an infinitely deep world of space and memory, the starting point from which all of us try to construct the purpose of our lives.

Echoes Amongst Us

Linda Martinez is a woman who has what other women want– she's bright, confident, independent, attractive, and makes a good living, but instead of feeling happy at her outward marks of success, an unwillingness to accept a traditional lifestyle makes her afraid of commitment. Her secret is that she has been a dreamer since childhood. Her unusual gift drives her into an esoteric journey where she gives up a life in Los Angeles and heads to Europe on an unknown quest. Following a globe-trot, the thought of becoming a mother begins to form until she is betrayed by the man she loves and she believes her dramatic nature prevents her from finding happiness. Following a grave depression, she abandons her meanderings and follows the path to her heart. She creates a life for herself as a writer and in the process finds a lasting love.
