We are living in a revolutionary period where the old has to break down for the new world order and growth to emerge. 2020 was brimming with change and upheaval, and many people are breathing a sigh of relief that this New Year will bring back what once was. On the surface, 2021 might feel like nothing more than a turn of the calendar page, but I believe we are in for far more surprises.
It often feels like we are in a clash of a dystopian world, trying to reach a utopian world and along with it, we have communism and oligarchy. So where are we? On the brink of change. Major change. Things from our human experience were taken from us in 2020 and trying to reach for them isn’t going to change reality. In fact, if things start to trickle in we may fall into a collective gaslight.
Understandably, everyone wants 2021 to be different. But every end has a new beginning and if we learned anything at all it’s what doesn’t work. We get a lot more personal empowerment by being in reality so Trump rioters are wasting their time needlessly and viciously. Yesterdays’ events are a direct reaction to what happened in 2020. There is no going back. Global changes are underway and have been for some time. And they will impact absolutely everyone.
In 1776, our Founding Fathers decided that all people have the right to equal treatment. Our government was created to be sure that our rights were protected. And what was then called God insured the right to Life, Liberty, and happiness. This ideology ultimately created the Declaration of Independence.
Our government is like a big giant epoch coming full circle. What was created originally is now coming to the top to close the apex. The themes of; freedom, alliance, power, control, dependence, independence, punishment, governance, authority, equality, justice, politics, trade, economy, rules, free will, choice, sovereignty, morality, reformation, polarization, corruption, and societal changes and the old versus the new are just as relevant today as they were then.
There’s a spiritual saying that things have to get worse before they get better. If you look at nature, the law is seen everywhere. It’s often darkest and coldest just before the sun comes up. In medicine, people often experience worse symptoms before they improve. In the birth process of giving life, there is agony and pain, of what was once and what will become. Pain purifies us and strips us of all falsehoods. We cannot have real victory, a lasting victory until we learn this lesson.
Much of our past was unsustainable. We rely on an economy that is vulnerable and built on quicksand; it has led to recession and collapse. We have a labor force that is one paycheck away from financial devastation and we continue to print money, build endless debt and other countries take advantage of that. That’s the nature of capitalism. In the years to come, the Chinese currency will rise in value whereas the U.S. and European currency will fall.
Power is amidst one of our tightest grips; that includes any person, group, and government entity is vying for power. Each person has to decide for themselves what they stand for, what to hold onto, and what to let go of. It’s best to do that when you are in a position to choose. This power grip brings conflict and violence worldwide. It happened yesterday, it will happen with Brexit and my hunch is there will be a vaccine war.
2021 is a time to define our values and concretely live them. We all have the power to harness our thoughts, words, and actions and define our life path. Live our lives as Buddha said, “You hold within you all that you require to attain all that you desire”
I’ll leave you with a few more reflections; they are not mine but are according to esoteric astrology, A harmonious conjunction took place recently that hadn’t happened for 800 years; it moved us into a collective change of social action. Within it will be a time of transition which is heralded in by times of great intensity such as global shocks, cultural revolutions, and a complete shift of perspective to think for the sake of humanity. Unfortunately, it also means deadly winds, earthquakes, rising water lines, heat, floods and drought, and fires because they represent the purging of the old to start anew.
On the flip side although humanity resists change we have been longing for it and will experience the old going out but not without a fight. This reset will usher in a change. We will recalibrate what we do every day, how we live, where we live, how we spend our money, how we approach relationships, who we have relationships with, how we manage our health. There will also be innovation, flexibility, curiosity, originality, inventions galore, genius, consciousness itself. Think about how this might manifest in your world. That might put a smile on your face.
Linda, this piece was more than a little timely. It is an assurance that all is not lost, and that with the right attitude, resilience, and generosity of spirit for ourselves and others, we can and will do better. Thank you. Be safe.
